Can Any More People Leave Downton? Seriously? Seriously.

To say that I am annoyed would be an understatement.

But seriously? If you all aren’t aware, Siobhan Finneran (O’Brien) has decided to leave Downton Abbey. And not after season 4 — immediately.

I know people move on and such, but come on now. The show is only going on the fourth season, it’s not like they have devoted decades to the show! But whatever. I really wanted to see her have to deal with her “soap” guilt in the next season. I feel that her story could have been so much more.

Then again, I can say the same about Dan Stevens. I just don’t know what to think/feel/say.

So what do we have to look forward to? Thomas becoming less or more irritable? Tom Branson continuing to grow within the family (I hope), Lady Mary trying to live life as a widowed mother, Edith being the Jane Eyre of Downton? De-PRESSING. The only ray of hope I have to hold on to is that the Dowager Countess, Violet Crawley survived the third installment without dying. WHEW! We all know it is coming though! Especially since Fellows wants to make it all the way to WWII. Well, excuse my poor math skills but that is well beyond the average lifespan of a normal person since WWII started in 1939!

Then again, this is the dowager we are talking about.

Season 3 Is Over

Well, it is over. I have known the outcome as many of you probably did by accident. I watched the finale the day after Christmas when the Telegraph and various other sources decided to run their mouths about it. I honestly don’t know how to feel now. At first I cried for 10 minutes and my daughter, worried as she was, ran to tell my husband.

But now. I don’t know. I feel disappointed in Dan Stevens. Seriously Dan, do you think ANYTHING is bigger than Downton Abbey right now? No, it isn’t. I hope for your sake you didn’t ruin your career.

However, the almost humorous yet somewhat ridiculous idea for me is that having babies on Downton Abbey leads to death. Twice in one season! WHAT IS THAT?

Edith: PLEASE don’t have a baby.

I am curious as to how Mary is going to deal with the whole situation. I wish I had more comprehensible things to say but honestly I don’t. I just wish Dan Stevens would have stayed around…at least for one more season!

But on to more important matters. The dowager, while not quite as witty as the previous seasons, proved to once again be the best character.

Thomas kind of redeemed himself there in the end…that was awesome. Bates is free (this was kind of blah for me, I wanted some drama and action!) Edith is now the Jane Eyre of the Crawley’s and the estate is somewhat secure.

However, what I would really love is to hear are your thoughts. So, by all means please comment and let me know how you feel about the season, what you think is to come, etc.
